Habanero Lime Rice – Easy, Fresh & Spicy!

A plate of habanero lime rice

To me, plain white rice is something that I eat only as an accompaniment to something else. It is never something that I am excited about, and it is most definitely never the best part of any meal. I don’t like serving anything that doesn’t add a good amount of flavor to a meal, and that is why I love this Habanero Lime Rice. This rice has both habaneros and jalapeños and it also has cilantro and lime juice. This is one side dish that is anything but bland, and if you aren’t careful, it may even outshine your main dish!

This rice is great with my Vietnamese beef bowls, slow cooker Korean beef, honey lime drumsticks and many other dishes! Please keep in mind that you can make this rice more or less spicy by changing the amount and/or type of peppers that you use. If you are more sensitive to heat, you could use only jalapeño peppers and leave out the habanero all together. Also, I like to leave the seeds and membrane in my peppers to add to the heat, but you can remove them if you would like.

These are the ingredients that you will need to make my Habanero Lime Rice:

  • Olive oil
  • Jalapeno
  • Habanero
  • White rice
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Cilantro
  • Lime juice
